Technology is built into the GATA learning experience from kindergarten through eighth grade.

At the Gaming and Technology Academy of Saginaw, students do not simply use technology — they learn how to understand it, create with it, and apply it to real-world problems. Technology is integrated across the school day to support instruction, collaboration, creativity, intervention, enrichment, and student engagement.

Students begin by developing strong digital literacy skills, including keyboarding, responsible technology use, digital collaboration, and basic coding concepts. In later grades, students expand into coding, robotics, engineering design, multimedia production, sound production, and advanced project-based learning.

Technology also supports GATA’s academic program through adaptive digital tools, virtual learning options, intervention blocks, and mastery-based supports. Students participating virtually receive access to the same Michigan standards-aligned curriculum, instructional materials, assessment expectations, certified teachers, and technology-based projects as in-person students.
